ബര്‍ലിന്‍: ജര്‍മനിയിലെ ജനന നിരക്ക് പത്ത് വര്‍ഷത്തെ ഏറ്റവും താഴ്ന്ന നിലയില്‍. സമൂഹത്തില്‍ ദീര്‍ഘകാല പ്രത്യാഘാതങ്ങള്‍ക്കു കാരണമാകുന്ന പ്രവണതയാണിതെന്ന് ജനസംഖ്യാ വിദഗ്ധര്‍ മുന്നറിയിപ്പ് നല്‍കുന്നു. പിന്നീട് ജനന നിരക്ക് വര്‍ധിച്ചാല്‍ പോലും ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ നിരക്കിടിവിനെ മറികടക്കാന്‍ സാധിക്കില്ല.

ജര്‍മന്‍ ഇന്‍സ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് ഓഫ് ഇക്കണോമിക് റിസര്‍ച്ചിന്റെ (ഇഫോ) കണക്ക് പ്രകാരം ഒരു സ്ത്രീക്ക് 1.35 കുട്ടികള്‍ എന്ന നിലയിലാണ് ഇപ്പോള്‍ രാജ്യത്തെ ജനന നിരക്ക്. 2021 ല്‍ ഇത് 1.58 ആയിരുന്നു.

ജര്‍മനിയിലെ പടിഞ്ഞാറന്‍ മേഖലകളെ അപേക്ഷിച്ച് കിഴക്കന്‍ മേഖലകളിലാണ് ജനന നിരക്ക് തീരെ കുറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നത്. 2021 മുതല്‍ 2023 വരെ ജര്‍മനിയിലെ ജനിക്കുന്ന കുട്ടികളുടെ എണ്ണത്തില്‍ 13 ശതമാനം കുറവാണ് രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുള്ളത്. കിഴക്കന്‍ ജര്‍മനിയെ മാത്രം കണക്കിലെടുത്താല്‍ 17.5 ശതമാനമാണ് കുറവ്.

2024 ജനുവരി മുതല്‍ ജൂലൈ വരെ 392,000 കുട്ടികളാണ് രാജ്യത്ത് ജനിച്ചത്. 2023ലെ ഇതേ കാലയളവില്‍ ജനിച്ച കുട്ടികളുടെ എണ്ണത്തെക്കാള്‍ മൂന്ന് ശതമാനം കുറവാണിത്.
